AID is an Innovative Real Time Air Quality Monitoring System consisted of multiple measurement stations and an interactive multi-agent network with main target to assess air quality and environmental conditions and support decision making and action implementation for public health protection and air pollution mitigation

WHAT ARE ITS OBJECTIVES

AID utilizes real time monitoring and fuzzy logic assessment of air quality conditions in order to protect public health by providing continuous information through internet and mobile application (Air-Polis) as well as to propose the appropriate actions to control air pollution critical events.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The AID has a hybrid nature, since it utilizes fuzzy logic algebra concepts, crisp values and a rule based inference mechanism.

Particularly, air quality data are collected in real time from measurement stations and while the system is updated on the current conditions, an iterative process is initiated to evaluate the air quality data, characterize the present situation and eventually send the output information to the user’s mobile phone or tablet.

Four distinct types of intelligent agents are foreseen for the above process: Sensor Agents, Evaluation Agents, Decision Agents and Actuator Agents.

WHAT SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO THE USERS?

The system receives in real time and assesses air quality measurements from multiple sensors in order to:

Perceive and evaluate the current environmental conditions using fuzzy logic
Inform the users with appropriate verbal messages and indicators through internet and mobile application
